Delicious Mango Chutney Recipe

Chutney is a family of condiments associated with South Asian cuisine made from a highly variable mixture of spices, vegetables, or fruit. As with other condiments such as relish or mustard, chutneys are based on a wide range of recipes and preparation methods, they vary widely by geography, they can range from a wet to dry—or coarse to fine—and they can be combined with a wide variety of foods or used for dipping.

Whether you are having roasted or baked chicken, this chutney will always suit. Or if you having an Indian meal. Have it with that, you can enjoy this recipe alot.

Ingredients for Delicious Mango Chutney Recipe :

  • 6 Cups of ripe Mangos , peeled and cut into small pieces
  • 1 tbsp finely grinded pomegranate seeds
  • 15 – 20 raisins (optional)
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 2 cup sugar
  • 2 tbsp finely chopped ginger
  • 1 tsp red chilli flakes
  • 1 tsp Aniseed (Saunf)


  • Combine sugar and vinegar in a heavy bottom pan and bring it boil.
  • Keep it stirring, till the sugar dissolves.
  • Add cut mangos,pomegranate seeds, raisins, chopped ginger and chilli flakes to mixture.
  • Let it cook on low heat for about 45 – 60 minutes, uncovered and keep it stirring occasionally.
  • Turn off the heat, once the gravy becomes thick like chutney.
  • Let it cool and transfer it to glass jar for long storage.
  • Keep it in fridge and enjoy it with meals or your special recipes.
  • Your chutney is ready to serve and easy to make as well.


  • Do not fill jars till top.
  • If you think, chutney has less gravy texture, you can use more vinegar in next batch. Do not over pour vinegar once the chutney is ready.
