Hara Bhara Kabab Recipe

Hara Bhara Kabab Recipe

Hara Bhara Kabab Recipe is so easy to prepare and full on with the goodness of spinach. One of the most loved kebabs in Indian restaurants around the world, the Hara Bhara Kebab is interestingly made with the humble spinach! Bound together by mashed chana dal, green peas and paneer, and flavoured with readily available spice powders and other ingredients like ginger and green chillies. You can serve them with delicious mint chutney.

Ingredients Hara Bhara Kabab Recipe :

  • 2 Boiled Potato
  • 1 cup Fresh Green peas
  • 2 cup Spinach/ Palak ( Boiled/ soaked in warm water for 1 hour )
  • 2 Green chilli
  • 1 tsp Ginger paste
  • 3 tbsp Besan/Gram flour
  • 1 tsp kitchen king powder(optional)
  • 1 tsp Amchoor powder / Chat Masala
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (shallow fry)
  • Cashew for garnish (optional)

  • Take green peas, green chilli, sugar and spinach in a grinder. Make fine paste.
  • Put the grinded mix in a bowl; add mashed potatoes, ginger paste, Amchoor powder, kitchen king and salt. Mix it well.
  • Add Gram flour/Besan to the mix so that it binds well.
  • Make equal sized balls out of it.
  • Grease your hands with water to make sure its not sticky. Make patties and put one cashew over the patties.
  • Heat pan at low flame with 2 tbsp oil for shallow fry.
  • Put kababs into the pan, few at a time and cook them well till both sides will be a little brown.
  • Do not cook it over high heat, or outer layer will get cooked and raw inside.
  • Serve them hot with cool mint chutney.

  • If you want, you can also bake them or grill them (as per your taste)
  • Never overcook potatoes or peas or palak as it will retain water and make the mixture gooey.
  • In case its very sticky and gooey, you can add more besan but it may remain uncooked if you add too much.
  • For crispy kababs, make sure no water is retained in palak before grinding. You need not grind it smoothly as well.
