Yogurt Sandwich is a light, healthy and refreshing sandwich, made with flavorful yogurt, cabbage and carrot. Sandwiches are always quick to make and great in taste. Anybody can make a quick sandwich, whether you have the knowledge of cooking or not. These are great for quick bite in middle of night or get packed in lunch box. So lets try out this easy to make Yogurt Sandwich Recipe.

Ingredients for Tasty Yogurt Sandwich Recipe:-

  • 4 slices of firm brown bread
  • 1 cup plain hung yogurt (tanga dahi),
  • 3 tbsp shredded cabbage (pata gobhi or band gobhi)
  • 2 tbsp shredded carrots (gajar)
  • 1 tsp crushed black pepper
  • 2 tsp finely chopped coriander leaves (hara dhania)
  • 1 tsp oregano powder, optional
  • 1 tsp butter or olive oil
  • salt to taste

Method for preparing hung curd:-

  • First line the strainer on a bowl. Then line a muslin on the strainer.
  • Pour the fresh curd and bring the four edges of the muslin together and tie the knot.
  • Gently press and allow the whey to drip.
  • Now place a heavy bowl or lid or tray on the tied muslin and keep it in refrigerator for 4 to 6 hours or overnight, depending on the fats and texture of yogurt.
  • After the required time, hung curd is ready.
  • Add all the ingredients for filling with yogurt and mix it well.

Method To Make Sandwich:

  • Spread the mix over two slices of bread and cover them with other slice.
  • Heat the skillet over medium heat and grease it with butter or olive oil.
  • Now grill the sandwich from both sides for 2 mins or until they are golden brown.
  • Sandwiches are ready. Serve them with side of salad or some potato chips.
